just this morning that I thought our dossier was in Ethiopia and we just hadn’t heard. I was right! An hour or so later an email came in from our adoption specialist letting me know that our dossier left Grand Rapids on October 24!
I rushed downstairs to tell him and found him doing a webex presentation for potential clients (he works from home). I quickly and quietly scribbled the note and tiptoed out the door – hoping he had could read the note and understand my intrusion.
October has turned out to be a whirlwind month for our family.
Here are some highlights:
Pumpkin Patch – Although we didn’t technically pick pumpkins right out of the field this year (due to extreme flooding this spring in the Mississippi River valley), we did go to our favorite “Patch”, took a hay ride to view said river valley in its fall splendor, rode horses, played in the corn maze, ate funnel cakes, and enjoyed a beautiful fall day as a family.

Halloween – Here are my Halloween angels as they Trick or Treated their way through our historic district. It was a beautiful fall afternoon in a beautiful part of town, later the girls rock and rolled at a church’s fall festival upon inflatable after inflatable. It was another great family day.

Daddy is in charge of pumpkin carving night at our house. They selected a ghost as the theme this year. Princess Ellie was a bit reluctant to get her hands in the goo, but followed her sister’s lead and was into it in no time. She was drawn away quickly though when the cookies came out of the oven!
I am trying to learn the process of posting pictures along with the narrative when I blog. It is taking a bit of time and I must move on with our day. Hopefully, I can get this process down soon! More to come….
